AAA Sub-region (District 5,6,8,9) Preseason Rankings

Post by Crimson's Ghost »

1. Somerset 0-0 @ Bishop Carroll

After one of the best year's of football in school history, Somerset has enough in the tank to make another deep run. Dylan Barnes and Jake Heiple is probably the most dynamic backfield in the area, and they should have their way with Bishop Carroll this week.

2. Clearfield 0-0 Fort Hill

Clearfield has a good team with some really talented standout players like Ryan Lezzer, and it should be a good year for Tim Janocko's squad. They open with Fort Hill High School Friday night, who was 15-0 and the Maryland Class A champions last season.

3. University Prep 0-0 @ Bishop Harley (OH)

Prep has a good team headlined by one of the top recruits in the class of 2017, Kenny Robinson. The Millionaires should be a good threat to Somerset and Clearfield.

4. Johnstown 0-0 @ Central Cambria

Johnstown always has a talented bunch, and they should be in the mix this year. The offense can be explosive with veteran QB, Jeremy Updyke leading the way.

5. Punxsutawney 0-0 Moniteau

The Chucks lose a good bit from last year's six win team, but playing a schedule mostly comprised of class A schools, they have the chance to achieve that six win total again.

6. Bellefonte 0-0 Jersey Shore

The Red Raiders should be slightly improved from recent years, but still have a ways to go before they are in playoff contention.

7. Bradford 0-0 @ St Mary's

Bradford is coming off a tough 2-8 year, and will be looking for improvement. They open with a solid St. Mary's team that beat the Owls to open last season.

Still unsure about University Prep's first game. According to westernpafootball.net, they play Bishop Hartley. According to UPrep's maxpreps, their schedule isn't even entered and according to Hartley's maxpreps' page, they are playing Toledo Central Catholic.

I guess we'll see.

Saw bishop carroll and they got whipped by bm and windber in their scrimmages. It will be a long season for them and opening up with somerset at somerset will be over by the 2nd quarter. Somersets jv would beat them.
