AAA Sub-Region (District 5.6,8,9) Week 3 Rankings
1. Somerset 2-0 Defeated Forest Hills 47-12 Next up: Bedford Previous: #1
Somerset just beat a strong Forest Hills team by five touchdowns. The backfield combination of Dylan Barnes and Jake Heiple are living up to the hype, and they will put their skills on display against a good Bedford team in one of the games of the year in the LHAC.
2. University Prep 2-0 Defeated Westinghouse 36-8 Next up: Brashear Previous: #2
University Prep started slow, but eventually put away City League rival, Westinghouse. Prep stays in Pittsburgh to take on another conference foe, Brashear. Brashear is 2-0 and have outscored their opponents 93-0, so Prep may see a tough contest.
3. Clearfield 1-1 Defeated Penns Valley 42-18 Next up: @ Central Previous: #3
Clearfield notched their first win of the year in convincing fashion over Penns Valley. A tough test awaits the Bison this week, as they must travel to 2-0 Central. Could be the game of the year in the Mountain Conference. Coach Tim Janocko will need junior athlete Ryan Lezzer to have a big day on offense to keep up with the high-powered Dragons.
4. Johnstown 2-0 Defeated Bishop Carroll 39-0 Next up: Bishop McCort Previous: #4
The Trojans have looked dominant in their two games thus far, and should be able to keep it rolling this week against Bishop McCort. Exree Loe appears to be the best athlete in the area, and the Trojans should lean on the Pitt commit a lot this season.
5. Punxsutawney 1-1 Lost to Keystone 33-14 Next up: @ Brookville Previous: #5
Punxsy could not win their second season, as they dropped one to class A Keystone. They face 1-1 Brookville on the road this week.
6. Bellefonte 0-2 Lost to Huntingdon 27-6 Next up: @ Philipsburg-Osceola Previous: #6
Bellefonte is better than in past seasons, but it still isn't showing up in their record. The Red Raiders may be able to pull off their first win this week with a trip to winless Philipsburg-Osceola.
7. Bradford 0-2 Lost to Oil City 27-0 Next up: Meadville Previous: #7
Bradford has to face Meadville, who as you know, is coming off a 107 point performance last week.
