Re: D-5 , D-6 playoff locations/Championship sites
The Beav is somewhat out of the way for most of D6, if you think Indiana,Westmoreland, and Cambria County.
Altoona is a reasonable place to hold the games. They used to play State Championships there, and its more than accommodating with seating, and places to eat nearby, and overall travel.
Obviously the allure of playing at a major stadium like the WPIAL playing at Heinz, would be the upgrade. It also is easier to get to then ever before, and also has plenty of options with food and such.
If Penn State hasn't offered it yet, I don't see what would make them do it now.

The first AAAA state championship game was held at Beaver. Pittsburg CC beat Cedar Cliff 14-7. 1998 was the year and it's the only time a state final has been played there.
Re: D-5 , D-6 playoff locations/Championship sites
1988 was the year. PCC was the third place team in WPIAL as the top two choose to forgo as it was the first year of state championships and many in WPIAL were not sold on state level championships. Real feather in the cap of WPIAL that year.

Oops typo. 1998 was the year they switched from mansion to Hershey I think.
