Really looking forward to when the Angels come to town, I need to see Mike Trout live.
I hear ya, this would definitely beat sitting in a dark basement surrounded by a cardboard castle playing League of Legends.

It is never too early for baseball season. What teams should be slated for the top spots for their conferences? Will there be any freshmen who can step in and make a difference for their team? From what I have seen in the local pony and colt leagues, I would think that Chestnut Ridge is due to rise quickly. They have had quite a few younger impact players on area summer league ball teams. Impressed with the individuals that they have. Can they bring it together as a team? A lot of potential there. Forest Hills will have a freshy who can step in and be a difference maker on the field. Hopefully a strong year of baseball coming at us.

I still can't think of why kids would want to go to UPJ for baseball.  I've been in area on and off for the better part of 25 years, and I can't remember them ever being good.  If I were a kids coming out of HS and UPJ wanted me, and a Division 3 or Community College did also....I'd seriously have to weigh my options.  Granted that's not the reason kids go to college, but I'd rather go to college, get a degree, and be on a winner team than; go to college, get a degree, and be on a losing team.

Last year FH had a solid young nucleus of ex colt league players, who with a year under their belts, should be pretty decent this year. Tanner Polinski, Robbie Bambino, Blaine Harteis, Sam Vought, Dom Panick, Ryan Richardson, and a lot of other Jr's and sophs. And the aforementioned Adam Cecere, making his HS debut in his supposedly best sport. A couple other frosh will make the team as well, incl. Jake Shope. I look for the number of team losses to be counted on one hand. Def. Coach C's best team in a few years.
It ain't over until it's over.

According to their website, they lost a DH to Pembroke State.  They had some good years in the WVIAC but the PSAC is a different league.
I could be wrong but I believe most kids who play at UPJ do so because they don't have any other options.

UPJ plays in a good D2 league.  I'm sure the student-athletes understand education first there and have the added benefit of playing against some pretty good players and teams.
Plus 4 or 5 more years to play the game.

If you aren't playing big time college athletics, education, location, and cost should be your main concerns.

Kids wouldn't be wise to go to the Mount for a more competitive team if UPJ is offering them scholarship money. That's a silly argument.

Or the kid could go to a JUCO and maybe do well, and get money from another school.  I'd rather win, than lose.  Call me crazy.

I am pretty sure getting a scholarship to pay for your education, especially at a good school like upj, in easily winning. Especially in the long run when your loan paymenys arent costing as much.
