They take game one against the Brewers. Polanco is on fire right now, big game for him.

Marte back tomorrow.

Buccos playing some good ball right now! Last years Melancion for Rivero was an absolute steal.

5-2 with 3 more big ones to come.  El Coffee is getting hot.  Maybe he is excited about getting his buddy back. I'm glad Frazier will still get his at bats with Marte back. Frazier had a big series against the Cards ( 6 for 12 with a clutch walk-off). It looks like Jahay or Freeze will lose some at-bats. We have our 3 pitching studs coming in the next 3, so let's keep the hope up!! I still believe!! :D :D

Freese said a few weeks ago, he signed here not expecting to be an everyday player. He acknowledged the team would be better with Kang playing at third.

So my guess, it's sort of a three man platoon. With Harrison playing either second or third every night, and Freese playing third sometimes and Frazier playing second other times.

Outside of drawing walks, Freese hasn't been very good this season. Leads team in errors, not hitting very well, no real power threat ect. I think a reduced workload should help that.

Marte LF
Harrison 2B
McCutchen CF
Bell 1B
Freese 3B
Polanco RF
Cervelli C
Mercer SS
Nova P

Guess Marte didn't have to earn his spot back.

6-2 so far in these 10 games.   1 of the next 2 would be big, that would mean they actually gain a little ground on Milwaukee.

We're still believing for the sweep!! I agree with the assessment of Freese, but guess who came up with the game-winning hit tonight!! Hoping to ride the Cole train to a dominant win tomorrow night!! :ymapplause: :ymapplause:

Well, no matter what the team went above .500 during this stretch. The problem....the Cubs have added an arm and are currently on fire as well.

My question- What should the Pirates buy or who should they sell?

Can they flip Watson in a way they did with Melancon last year?

I thought I would have liked to see a guy like Todd Frazier added but that's a name vs actual production.

Where would you upgrade? The team has a good outfield, good starting pitching and some young depth, a solid back end of the pen, a young 1B, Harrison, and Mercer....

What could they add? A third basemen? If so, who?

If you are buying....

Outside of Rivero and Nicasio, I don't trust many of their relievers, I think that's a place they could add.

And Kuhl/Williams have pitched better of late, but I think a veteran 4th starter would be helpful.

Offensively, I think getting Marte back is helpful enough for now.
