Not a high horse, but they are being compared to other one loss teams, cue Ohio State who beat them by 1 at home. They should still be in top 10 if Oklahoma is

Oklahoma also beat ohio state at ohio state... Maybe they should be above ohio state honestly.

Notre dame, tcu, oklahoma and ohio state all have better wins than penn state with 1 loss. And Losing to Iowa state now looks a lot better than it did before so its not like OK and TCU have a big bad loss.

Clemson is really the team who might be comparable to penn state but theyve played and beaten a tougher schedule

I guess that's my point. Your rankings have been consistent and based on wins/losses, SOS, etc. And then you say that you hold it against PSU for a  losing a big 4th quarter lead but keep Ohio St.  ahead of the team that beat them by 15 pts at home.

The first installment of the college football playoff rankings come out tonight.

Here's how I would have it.  (2 loss teams are irrelevant at this point, no need to rank them now)

1. Alabama 8-0
2. Georgia 8-0
3. Notre Dame 7-1
4. Clemson 7-1
5. Oklahoma 7-1
6. Ohio State 7-1
7. Penn State 7-1
8. Wisconsin 8-0
9. Miami 7-0
10. TCU 7-1
11. Oklahoma State 7-1
12. Virginia Tech 7-1
13. Washington 7-1
14. Central Florida 7-0

It will be interesting to see how the committee values being undefeated.

Top 10 for committee so far

1. Georgia
2. Alabama
3. Notre dame
4. Clemson
5. Oklahoma
6. Ohio state
7. Penn state
8. Tcu
9. Wisconsin
10. Miami

Initial reactions

1. Big 10 is not seen as a top conference as some of us think it is.

2. Penn State is in serious trouble

3. They value out of conference games and strength of schedule.
